Russell Dean Duncan, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, MGRA, or to KC Pioneers. Russell was born on August 20, 1939 to John (Jack) William and Zola (Harper) Duncan. He graduated from Archie High School, In Archie, MO in 1958. Out of high school he started working at Hallmark Cards as a print press operator. He got drafted to the U.S. Army March, 1963. He was honorably released early February, 1965 from Germany. He remained in the reserves until March 1969. After 39 years he retired from Hallmark Cards in 1997. He was a KC Chiefs season ticket holder for 55 years. For years he hosted parties on the 4th of July for friends and family where he could show off his gardening skills. He belonged to the KC Pioneers and MGRA from the mid 70’s to present. He also volunteered at the Highland Scottish Games. He loved nothing more than his family, friends and Chiefs. In addition to his parents. Russell was preceded in death by a sister, Ana Lee Carter and nephew Marty Ray Caruthers. Russell is survived by his best friend Bob Cross; brother Wayne (Zona) Duncan of Odessa, MO: sister, Fern Lee Terry of Climax Springs, MO, a Sister Joyce Yocum, Peculiar, MO; and a brother Jack (Deborah) Duncan, Deepwater, MO. Nephews, John Wayne Caruthers, KC, Kansas, Robert Dean Duncan, Odessa, MO; Gary Hunt, Butler, MO; Troy (Anita) Duncan, Climax Springs, MO; Mike (Dana) Duncan, Odessa, MO; and Blake Duncan, Deepwater, MO. Nieces Johanna and Mary Sue Caruthers, Oklahoma and many great nephews and nieces.
