Gerald Wayne Pate

Gerald Wayne Pate, 80, of Wellington, MO. passed away Wednesday August 30, 2023,

at KU Medical Center, KS., surrounded by his family. Memorial Services will beheld at 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the Wellington-Napoleon Funeral Chapel, Wellington, MO.

Visitation: 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home 1 hour prior to service. Burial at a later date

in Wellington City Cemetery, Wellington, MO.

Gerald was born August 5, 1943, in Booneville, MS. to Vernon Travis and Zera Grace (Holley) Pate.
He moved to Wellington in 1969. He was in the United States Airforce as a Medic and served from

Aug. 29, 1960 to Aug. 28, 1965. He married Cheryl Marie Deiley. They resided in Wellington.

He worked for Armco Steel, and was a Vo-Tec teacher. He was a man of faith.

Gerald loved to spend time with his family, fish, travel and the KC Chiefs. Riding roller coasters and

Up for new adventures.

Survivors include his daughters: Sheila Pate Derringer (Scottie), Lisa Pate-Hill (Adam), of Wellington, MO.,

Corissa Hoover (Warren), Fort Worth, TX.  Sons: Chris Pate (Allison) , Wichita, KS., Christopher Pate (Chrissy),

Blue Springs, MO. Brother: Larry Pate, Homma, LA. Brother-in-law Mike Hunter, AR.

Numerous grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Cheryl Marie (Deiley) Pate in 2001., son Dallas

(Chip) Pate and sister: Brenda Hunter.
Memorial to: Wellington Booster Club.
