Charles Ocal Morgan, 79 of Wellington, Missouri passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri. Charlie was born on March 5, 1946, and was married to Sheila Sims, the love of his life, on June 27, 1964.  He graduated from Wellington High School in 1964.  He was a lifelong resident of Wellington, Missouri. Charlie is survived by his wife of the home Sheila. Daughter, Missy (Kelly) Register, Wellington, MO. Son, Matthew Charles (Stacy) Morgan, Warrensburg, MO. Grandchildren, Devon (Heather) Register, Dylon (Holly) Register, Demi (Garrett) Day, Madelyn Morgan, Mackenzie Morgan, and Charlie Morgan. Great Grandchildren, Kruze Register, Gracyn Register, Hayden Register, Kinleigh Day, Easton Day, Adalynn Day and embraced grandson Triston Hartwig. Sister, Marie (Rollin) Blacketer. His sister-in-law Lucia (Danny) Morris and his brother-in-law, Jerry (Brenda) Sims.  Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, three stepsisters and in-laws David and Doris Sims and nephew Chris Morgan. Charlie enjoyed his life in Christ, with the foundation of his life being his love for his family.  He stated numerous times that his primary purpose in life was to do whatever he had to do to protect and provide for his family.  He was a man of many trades, vocations and accomplishments.  He worked in many trades in the construction industry, he was a business owner, an entrepreneur, built and ran an R-V park, and was known by countless admirers, as Catfish Charlie.  He loved to hunt, fish and spent his entire life either in, around or on the Missouri River. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the St. Luke’s Evangelical Free Church, Wellington, Missouri. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the church. Burial in the Wellington City Cemetery, Wellington, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wellington Fair and Wellington-Napoleon Sports Association scholarship fund and St. Luke’s Women’s Fellowship.
